Answer first

Follow Up Boss does not document an MCP server of its own as of October 6, 2026; its published developer surface is a REST API with API-key and OAuth authentication.

MCP access exists only through third parties: a paid add-on listed in the Follow Up Boss integrations directory and several unofficial open-source servers built on the public API.

01 / Exposes

What it exposes

Because there is no first-party server, what an AI assistant can reach depends on which third-party server you run, and every one of them sits on top of the same Follow Up Boss API:

  • The API. Follow Up Boss publishes a REST API at api.followupboss.com/v1 with endpoints for people, events, notes, deals and tasks, among others. Its documentation index lists API references, OAuth guides and inbox-app guides, and no MCP server.
  • A listed third-party server. The Follow Up Boss integrations directory lists Ace AI, which advertises “exclusive MCP to access your data in Claude & ChatGPT.” Ace AI’s terms identify it as a product of Moon Sherpa Labs, and MCP access is part of its paid tier.
  • Unofficial open-source servers. On GitHub, mindwear-capitian/followupboss-mcp-server describes itself as a 160-tool, self-hosted server under the Elastic License 2.0, and benlaube/fub-mcp is a smaller project with no license declared on GitHub. Neither is built or supported by Follow Up Boss.

02 / Connect

How to connect it

There is no Follow Up Boss connector to switch on. A team that wants an assistant working in its Follow Up Boss data has three routes:

  1. Use a third-party MCP service that connects to your Follow Up Boss account, after reviewing who operates it and what it can write.
  2. Self-host a community server and give it a Follow Up Boss API key. Keys are per user, found under Admin, then API, and sent with HTTP Basic authentication.
  3. Build your own agent layer on the API, which supports both API-key and OAuth authentication.

Whichever route you take, the key or token decides the reach. Follow Up Boss states that an API key “provides the same privileges as the user’s login credentials”: an agent’s key sees only that agent’s assigned contacts, while a broker’s key sees everyone in the account.

03 / Limits

Limits

  • No vendor support. Problems with a third-party or community server are not Follow Up Boss’s to fix, and a change to the API can break a server its maintainer has not updated.
  • Credential exposure. Self-hosting means storing an API key that carries the user’s full privileges. Use the narrowest user role that does the job.
  • Licensing. Read the license before deploying a community server inside a brokerage; the two projects above differ, and one declares none.
  • Write actions. Both community projects above document create, update and delete operations, and the larger one warns in its own README that it has full read and write access. Test on a non-production account first.

04 / Conduyt

How it compares to Conduyt’s MCP

The difference here is first-party support. Conduyt’s MCP server, as described on the Conduyt AI page, is built and maintained by Conduyt and exposes 290+ tools across 34 modules. It authenticates with scoped API keys, so a read-only key can be issued for one agent and a write-scoped key for another, and the same page lists dry-run mode, confirmation tokens for destructive actions and an audit log. A Follow Up Boss team can get MCP access today, but through software someone else operates. The developer page covers Conduyt’s setup.

Frequently asked questions

Does Follow Up Boss have an MCP server?

Follow Up Boss does not document an MCP server of its own as of October 6, 2026. Its developer documentation covers a REST API with API-key and OAuth authentication. MCP access is available only through third-party products and unofficial open-source servers.

Is there an unofficial Follow Up Boss MCP server?

Yes. Open-source projects on GitHub, such as mindwear-capitian/followupboss-mcp-server and benlaube/fub-mcp, wrap the Follow Up Boss API as MCP tools, and the Follow Up Boss integrations directory lists Ace AI, a paid third-party product with MCP access. None of them is built or supported by Follow Up Boss.

What can an AI agent see through the Follow Up Boss API?

Whatever the API key’s user can see. Follow Up Boss states that an API key has the same access level as its user, so an agent’s key reaches only that agent’s assigned contacts, while a broker’s key reaches all people in the account.
