Microsoft 365 / Outlook and Conduyt

Conduyt connects to Microsoft Outlook through Microsoft 365 in two ways. Calendar sync runs both ways: your Outlook events block booking times in Conduyt, and appointments booked in Conduyt land on your Outlook calendar. Inbox capture reads new mail in your Outlook inbox and puts replies from your contacts on their Conduyt timeline.

How it works

What makes it different

01

Your Outlook calendar sets your availability

Events on your Outlook calendar sync into Conduyt, and booking pages only offer times you are free. Events shown as free, and invitations you have not responded to, do not block a slot.

02

Bookings land on your Outlook calendar

When an appointment is booked in Conduyt, it is written to the Outlook calendar of the person it is assigned to, with the title, time, location and description, and the contact added as an attendee. Rescheduling or cancelling in Conduyt updates or removes that event.

03

Changes in Outlook come back

Move a synced appointment in Outlook and Conduyt moves the appointment to match. Delete it in Outlook and Conduyt cancels the appointment, keeps the record, and notes on the contact's timeline that the event was deleted in your calendar.

04

Client replies land on the contact

With your Outlook inbox connected, a reply from a contact appears on their Conduyt timeline even when they answer straight to your inbox. A reply to an email you sent from Conduyt also stops that contact's active sequences and notifies you.

Before you start

What you need in place first

✓
A Microsoft 365 account for each personCalendar and inbox connections belong to one user. Each rep signs in to Conduyt as themselves and connects their own Microsoft 365 account.
✓
Admin approval, if your organization requires itConduyt asks Microsoft for permission to read and write your calendar and to read your mail. If your Microsoft 365 tenant does not let users approve apps themselves, an administrator grants consent once for the whole organization, and each user can then connect without that prompt. Source: Microsoft: grant tenant-wide admin consent.
✓
Your contacts already in ConduytInbox capture only records mail from addresses that match a contact. Mail from anyone else, such as coworkers, vendors and newsletters, is skipped, so import or create your contacts first.
✓
A booking page, for the availability sideBusy times matter where people book you. A booking page offers only the times your calendar shows as free. Booking pages are set up by admins.

The first sync covers 30 days back to one year ahead; after that, changes arrive as they happen.Read from your default Outlook calendar through Microsoft Graph (calendarView). Graph change notifications tell Conduyt when an event is created, updated or deleted.

Honest limits

What it does not do

✕
Conduyt does not send through your Outlook mailboxInbox capture is read only. Email you send from Conduyt is not sent through your Outlook account.
✕
Inbox only, and only new mailCapture watches the Inbox folder. Mail that arrived before you connected is not imported, and other folders are not read.
✕
Unknown senders are skippedMail from an address with no matching contact is not recorded, and no contact is created for it.
✕
Your default calendar onlyConduyt reads and writes the default calendar of the connected account. Other calendars in the account are not synced.
✕
A one-year windowThe first sync covers 30 days back and one year ahead. An event moved more than a year out leaves the Conduyt calendar but does not cancel its appointment.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Conduyt have an Outlook integration?

Yes. Conduyt connects to Microsoft Outlook through Microsoft 365 for two things: two-way calendar sync, and capture of client replies from your Outlook inbox onto the contact timeline. Each user connects their own account.

Does the Outlook calendar sync go both ways?

Yes. Outlook events sync into Conduyt and block booking times, and appointments booked in Conduyt are written to your Outlook calendar. Moving or deleting the event in Outlook reschedules or cancels the appointment in Conduyt.

Can Conduyt send email from my Outlook account?

Not today. The inbox connection asks Microsoft for read access to mail only. Email sent from Conduyt goes out through Conduyt's own sending layer.

Why does Microsoft ask for admin approval?

Some Microsoft 365 tenants do not let users approve apps on their own. In that case an administrator grants consent for the organization once, and after that each user can connect without that prompt.

What happens to mail from people who are not in my CRM?

It is skipped. Conduyt only records mail from addresses that match a contact, so coworkers, vendors and newsletters do not end up in your CRM.
