Project Blue and Conduyt
Conduyt connects to your Project Blue account with its API key and gives each rep one of your Project Blue lines. Reps text from the contact page and workflows send from a line, as iMessage when the lead is on Apple and as SMS otherwise, and replies come back to the contact. With Project Blue's voice calling keys saved, reps also call from the line in the Conduyt softphone, without an iPhone of their own.
What makes it different
Each rep texts from their own line
On a contact's page, a rep who holds a line sees an iPhone option under Send from, alongside any other line they can send from. The message goes as iMessage when the lead is on Apple and as SMS otherwise, from the same line, and the contact's history marks each one iMessage or SMS. Before every text Conduyt runs the same opt-out and do-not-contact checks it runs for a Twilio text.
Workflows send from a line
In Automations, the Send SMS step has an SMS · Project Blue channel. Under Send from line, pick one of your assigned lines or leave it on the assigned rep's own line. If that rep has no line, the step does not send.
Replies land on the contact
Every minute Conduyt reads the new incoming messages on each assigned line with your key. It matches the number to a contact or creates one, keeps the message in the contact's history and notifies the rep who holds the line. A contact who replies STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT is opted out for that number, as with any text.
Calls from the line in the browser
With Project Blue's voice calling keys saved, the Call from choice in the softphone and the call dock includes iPhone line, and shows the number the lead will see. Conduyt runs the same do-not-call and calling-window checks as every call, then has Project Blue's voice account ring the lead. When the lead picks up, your recording disclosure plays if it is on, and the call connects to the rep's browser.
What you need in place first
What moves, and which way
| Direction | What moves | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Conduyt to Project Blue (texts) | The message text, the contact's number, the line it goes out on, and the Conduyt message ID as an idempotency key. | Project Blue chooses iMessage or SMS. Conduyt records which one it used, and a retried send carries the same key so Project Blue can drop the duplicate. |
| Project Blue to Conduyt (replies) | Each incoming message on an assigned line: the sender's number, the line, the text and Project Blue's message ID. | Read every minute with your key, from a few minutes before the last read, and de-duplicated on the message ID. Project Blue's webhooks are not used, because they are not signed. |
| Conduyt reads from Project Blue | Your lines, with each number and name. | Read live when Settings, then Project Blue, opens and before a line is assigned. Your key is checked the same way before Conduyt saves it. |
| Conduyt to Project Blue's voice account (calls) | A request to call the lead from the saved caller ID, with instructions to play your disclosure, record if your switch is on, and connect the rep's browser. | Project Blue places regular calls through its own Twilio account. When you save the voice keys, Conduyt reads that account's verified caller IDs and numbers and writes nothing. |
| Project Blue's voice account to Conduyt (calls) | Call status updates and, when recording is on, the recording. | Each update arrives on a signed address and is checked against the call's record on Project Blue's voice account before Conduyt uses it. |
4 steps, about ten minutes
Connect your Project Blue account
In Conduyt, open Settings, then Connections, then Project Blue. Under Connection, paste the API key from your Project Blue dashboard and click Connect. Conduyt checks the key with Project Blue before saving it and stores it encrypted.
Give each rep a line
Under Lines, read live from Project Blue, pick an agent for each number. A rep holds one line: assigning a line someone else holds, or to a rep who already has one, moves it.
Add voice calling
Under Voice calling, paste the Account SID, TwiML App SID, API Key SID and API Key Secret from your Project Blue dashboard and click Save and verify. The card then shows the number your calls will show.
Choose recording, then start
Under Call recording, set Record outbound calls and Play recording disclosure for the iPhone line. Reps then pick iPhone under Send from on a contact, or iPhone line under Call from before a call.

Common questions
Does Conduyt integrate with Project Blue?
Yes. You paste your Project Blue API key in Settings, then Project Blue, and give each rep one of your lines. Reps then text from the contact page and workflows send from a line, as iMessage when the lead is on Apple and SMS otherwise, and replies land on the contact.
Can I call from my Project Blue line?
Yes. Once Project Blue's voice calling keys are saved in Settings, reps pick iPhone line under Call from in the softphone or the call dock, and talk in the browser. Incoming calls to the line do not reach Conduyt; forward the line to the rep's Conduyt number in Project Blue's dashboard.
Do my reps need an iPhone?
No. Project Blue says customers do not supply iPhones, Macs or SIM cards. Reps send iMessages from Conduyt and take calls in the Conduyt softphone in their browser.
What happens when a contact replies STOP?
The same as a STOP to any Conduyt text. STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT opt that number out, and Conduyt checks opt-outs and do-not-contact entries before every text from a Project Blue line.
What does Project Blue through Conduyt cost?
The Conduyt side has no plan gate: it needs active billing, and the trial counts. Your lines are billed by Project Blue on its per-line plans.
