Slack and Conduyt
Conduyt installs into your Slack workspace in one click. Channel alerts cover new contacts, new, won and lost deals, completed tasks, form submissions and paid invoices. Private direct messages tell the rep a contact is assigned to about a new text message, a booked appointment, a missed call or a voicemail, with a button that opens the lead in Conduyt. Automations can also post their own messages to Slack through an incoming webhook.
What makes it different
Channel alerts for the things your team watches
Conduyt posts to a channel when a contact is created, a deal is created, won or lost, a task is completed, a form is submitted or an invoice is paid. Each post is a formatted card: a deal-won post shows the value, pipeline, contact and when it was won. Posts go to a channel named #crm-notifications unless you set your own in Default Channel. Channel alerts are on as soon as you connect.
Private DMs to the rep who owns the lead
With direct messages switched on, the rep a contact is assigned to gets a Slack DM when that contact sends a text message, books an appointment, misses a call or leaves a voicemail. The DM carries the contact name and number, a snippet of the text (up to 280 characters) or the appointment time and booking page, and an Open lead in Conduyt button.
Reps are matched by email
Conduyt finds the rep in Slack by the email on their Conduyt user, remembers the match, and sends a lead alert to that person only. If no Slack user has that email, the alert is not sent anywhere and the Integrations page tells you why.
Automations can post their own messages
The Send Slack Message action in Automations posts a message you write, with merge fields such as the contact's first name, to a Slack incoming webhook URL you paste into the step.
What you need in place first
What moves, and which way
| Direction | What moves | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Conduyt to Slack (channel) | Formatted posts for contact.created, deal.created, deal.won, deal.lost, task.completed, form.submitted and invoice.paid: the record's name or title, value, pipeline, stage, contact, email, company, source, assignee, form name, invoice number and amount, as each event carries them. | Posted through the installed app with chat.postMessage, or to your incoming webhook if you connected with one. Up to three attempts with a short wait between them. |
| Conduyt to Slack (direct message) | Private alerts for message.received (text messages only), appointment.booked, call.missed and call.voicemail_received: contact name, phone number, a text snippet, the appointment time and booking page, the missed-call reason, and a link to the contact in Conduyt. | Conduyt opens a direct message with the rep (conversations.open) and posts into it. These alerts are never posted to a channel. |
| Slack to Conduyt | The workspace name, the app's bot user ID, and the Slack user IDs matched to your reps' emails. | Stored on the connection; the bot token is stored encrypted. Nothing typed in Slack is read by Conduyt. |
| Conduyt to Slack (automation) | The message written in a Send Slack Message step, with merge fields filled in, plus the step's configuration and the trigger context. | Sent to the incoming webhook URL in the step. Slack documents that a webhook posts to the one channel chosen when it was created and that its channel cannot be overridden (incoming webhooks). |
4 steps, about ten minutes
Open Settings, then Integrations
In Conduyt, open Settings, then Integrations, and click the Slack card.
Connect with Slack
Click Connect with Slack (recommended), choose your workspace and allow the permissions. You come back to Conduyt with Slack connected. Pasting a bot token or an incoming webhook URL instead also works, but a webhook cannot send direct messages.
Pick a channel and the alerts you want
Type your channel in Default Channel (otherwise posts go to #crm-notifications). Under Notifications, keep or clear New contacts, Deal activity and Forms and invoices. Under Direct messages to assigned rep, switch on Inbound text messages, Appointments booked and Missed calls and voicemails as you want them, then click Save notification settings.
Send yourself a test DM
Click Send test DM. A sample text-message alert arrives from the Conduyt app in your Slack, which confirms the email match works for you.

Common questions
Does Conduyt integrate with Slack?
Yes. Conduyt installs into your Slack workspace in one click and posts channel alerts for new contacts, new, won and lost deals, completed tasks, form submissions and paid invoices. It can also send a private DM to the rep a lead is assigned to when that lead texts, books an appointment, misses a call or leaves a voicemail.
Can Slack alerts go to the right salesperson instead of a channel?
Yes. Switch on the direct messages in the Slack settings. Conduyt matches each rep by the email on their Conduyt user and DMs only that person, with an Open lead in Conduyt button. Nothing from those alerts is posted to a shared channel.
Which Slack permissions does Conduyt ask for?
Six bot permissions: chat:write and chat:write.public to post in channels, channels:read to list public channels, users:read and users:read.email to find a rep by email, and im:write to open a direct message with them.
Can I use a Slack webhook instead of installing the app?
Yes. Paste an incoming webhook URL, or a bot token, on the Slack card. A webhook posts to the channel it was created for and cannot send direct messages, so the Inbound text messages, Appointments booked and Missed calls and voicemails alerts need the one-click install.
Can an automation post a custom message to Slack?
Yes. Add the Send Slack Message action to an automation, paste a Slack incoming webhook URL and write the message. Merge fields such as the contact's first name are filled in when it runs.
